Gender Mainstreaming In the Energy Sector

Accra, 19th June 2017: The Local Content Unit in the Petroleum Directorate of the Ministry of Energy will be visiting 12 Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Western, Central and Volta Regions from today, June 19, 2017 to sensitize students on the fundamentals of Ghana’s Energy sector with key focus on the petroleum industry. The team will also provide students with career guidance and employment opportunities in the industry.

Energy Minister Leads Delegation to the Offshore Technology Conference

The Minister of Energy, Hon. Boakye Agyarko, together with his Ghanaian delegation including Deputy Energy Minister in charge of Petroleum, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Deputy Energy Minister in charge of Finance and Infrastructure, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe, and other technocrats represented Ghana at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston Texas, United States. The conference which is scheduled from May 1, 2017 to May 4, 2017 is the largest event in the world for the oil and gas industry featuring more than 2,300 exhibitors, and attendees representing 100 countries.

Deputy energy ministers sworn into office

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, has sworn into office three (3) Deputy Ministers of Energy. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Flagstaff House after Parliament’s Appointments Committee gave their approval.

The Deputy Ministers of Energy are Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum, Hon. William Owuraku Aidoo (M...P), Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Power, and Hon. Joseph Cudjoe (MP), Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Finance and Infrastructure.
