Commissioning of 500 Bed Dormitory by the Hon Minister
The Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was privileged to be the Guest of Honour at the colourful commissioning of a 500-bed girls’ dormitory at Nsein SHS in the Western Region. The project started during his stint at the Education Ministry and was funded by Tullow Ghana.
In 2018 Tullow made a $10 million investment to build senior high school infrastructure in Ghana over five (5) years to support the government’s policy of providing free quality senior high school education for Ghanaian children. This includes the Nsein Senior High School Dormitory, part of the numerous CSR projects undertaken by Tullow Ghana Limited worthy of commendation.
In his remarks, He encouraged Tullow to adopt Nsein SHS and transform it into a model school for STEM. I also asked them to consider investing more in the TVET sector particularly, the oil and gas sector as part of this country’s local content agenda.
Ghana has a youthful, energetic population that can and should be tapped into to develop crucial technical skills to support our budding oil and gas industry, and Dr. Prempeh looks forward to a close and cordial working relationship with Tullow in this regard.
