Energy Minister pays working visit to NPA

Ghana’s Energy Minister has visited the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to commend staff for their pivotal role in regulating Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

During the visit, the Minister shared updates on a comprehensive reform programme developed from the work of a Downstream Review Committee established after he assumed office.

A major aspect of the reforms includes plans to repeal and replace the NPA Act 2005 (Act 691) as amended, with the goal of modernising regulation and aligning the sector with global best practices.

The Minister also noted ongoing efforts to address infrastructure challenges, including the government’s collaboration with the NPA on a new Offshore Mooring Facility. The project is expected to reduce delays and improve fuel distribution efficiency across the country.
